Invicta Dynamics 0 - Bison Ladies 3
A much improved Gillingham ice rink greeted the Bison Ladies keen to get back to winning ways after last weeks loss to Gosport. The first period saw some good puck work & the Bison Ladies were rewarded with 2 goals, first from Teresa Baldwin & second from Hannah Driver.The score remained 2-0 with a further goal from Hannah Driver being disallowed until the third period when Jodie Attrill got a go ahead pass & scored one on one with the keeper. Jodie Attrill received MOM & spirit went to Jennie Agass. This was the Bison Ladies last game of 2011.
Gosport Amazons 2 - Bison Ladies 0
Bison Ladies suffered their first defeat of the season losing to Gosport 2-0. It was a penalty fuelled game with C Kelly getting 2+10+10 (Game) & Jodie & Leah also getting 10 min misconduct penalties. MOM went to Charlotte Rodgers & spirit to Tanya Morgan. Special mention to goalie Sam Vernon who made some excellent saves.
Streatham Storm 1 - Bison Ladies 5
A coned off portion of the blue line greeted the Bison Ladies when they arrived at Streatham for the return leg against the Storm. The Streatham ice team did a great job & the ice was playable in time for face off. The Storm got off to a good start with a goal after 3 mins but the Bison Ladies re-grouped & tied the score at 11 mins with a goal from Jodie Attrill. The second period was all Bison Ladies with 2 goals, one from Jodie & one from Charlotte Rodgers. The third period also saw a futher goal from Charlotte & a hatrick goal from Jodie. Libby Virtanen, Jo Bennett & Kristine Sarapova all made their Bison Ladies debuts in the third period.
MOM went to Charlotte Rodgers & spirit went to Jennie Agass
Bison Ladies 5 - Streatham Storm 1
The Bison Ladies started their new season in Div 1 South with a 5-1 (somewhat foggy) win over visiting Streatham Storm.
The Bison got off to a great start scoring 3 goals in the 1st period. New signing Jodie Attrill put the 1st on the scoreboard followed by a breakaway goal by returnee Charlotte Rodgers. Lauren Pilbeam netted the third from close range to end the period.
Second period was a little scrappy in places & a fog was descending over the ice making it hard for both sides. A short handed goal from Jodie was the only marker.
By the third period the fog had well & truly set in - you couldn't see the puck up the other end of the ice! Streatham despite only have 9 out players never gave up throughout the whole of the game & their efforts were rewarded with a goal at 49.22. Karen Probin then replied by skating the puck coast to coast to end the game 5-1 to the Bison Ladies.
MOM was Karen Probin & spirit went to Charlotte Rodgers.
